About Dr. McAllister
Dr. Bennett William McAllister is Board-Certified in adult psychiatry. He is a proud alumnus of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, Hampton University, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and the LSU-Ochsner adult psychiatric residency program. While at LSU Dr. McAllister was given the honor of being selected as the intern of the year, during Hurricane Katrina. As a senior resident, determined by all of the physicians in the department of psychiatry, he was selected as the resident of the year. His significant experience working in several settings in the field of psychiatry allows for a greater understanding when caring for his patients. He is adept at treating patients in an adult or geriatric inpatient psychiatric facility as well as in the outpatient clinic. He also has over 15 years of experience seeing patients as a consultation liaison psychiatrist in their greatest time of need, receiving medical treatment while hospitalized. In addition, with greater than 14 years of experience, Dr. McAllister was one of the first psychiatrists in Florida using transcranial magnetic stimulation for treatment resistant depression.
